2020 solidarity collection results
Local collection operations arrive in Mayotte
As Mayotte has a lack of municipal recycling facilities, ecosystem decided to launch local collection operations whilst strictly adhering to health protection protocols in force. Since 28 November 2020, with the Petit Terre Town Community and within the framework of the European Week for Waste Reduction, a trial was launched. Given its huge success, collection operations will continue in 2021. 20 operations have already been planned for the first semester.
“Listen to your heart": the solidarity toy collection
This eleventh edition of the Listen to your heart operation was an immense success because 2,367 sacks of toys were collected, i.e. 34,972 kg of toys. This is 35% more than in 2019, but with 35% less collection points (due to Covid-19 health restrictions).
The purpose of this major operation, which takes place during the end of year festivities, is to raise the awareness of children and adults alike in donating, redeploying or reusing toys. The operation has generated a great deal of generosity and involvement by local authorities and collection points. Thanks to the mobilisation of local authorities, 396 collection points have been set up.
Remember, all toys collected are given to 31 French charities.
